Globetrotting Guide: Austin

We've just returned from ACL music festival and we left our hearts in Texas.

The festival itself was everything you can imagine, featuring artists from Disclosure to Brandon Flowers, to Drake, to Halsey to The Weekend. But, when we were not preoccupied with dancing about in Zilker Park ( you should go here) and singing our hearts out, we spent almost every waking moment exploring this very exciting city.

See: Austin City Limits, of course! SxSWBarton Springs Pool, The Contemporary Austin, Blanton Museum of Art, South Congress Ave, and the Capitol Building because it's simply stunning architecture.

Shop: Vintage, vintage, vintage. Feathers, Uncommon Objects, Charm School.  Also, Hacienda and Love Ding.

Stay: Hotel San Jose, Josephine House, Heywood Hotel, Hotel Ella, Kimber Modern.

Drink: Garage for cocktails, Handlebar for a fun night out with a rooftop bar, and The Dogwood.

Dine: Launderette, Elizabeth Street Cafe, Qui, Sway. Must note that Austin is known for their 24 hour diners, and 24 Diner is a MUST! We went there at 3am and the place was packed with exciting folk, the atmosphere was great and the food all too delicious. Magnolia Cafe was also a treat.
